We have observed brand new light bulbs that don t work right out of the box. Unplug the garage door opener then immediately plug the opener back into the electrical outlet.

But if new led bulbs seem to have caused the problem look for a brand you can trust and an fcc label and you should be in good hands. Many are surprised by this but we aren t. Led lights have drivers inside the bulbs which produce a field that interferes with the garage door preventing the door from opening. Listen for the light relay on the logic board to click.

Bulbs will not work in older garage door openers and some people believe these new style bulbs can actually interfere with the transmitter and receiver causing the opener remotes to not work properly. I have not been able to determine yet if this really occurs but it has been reported in some cases.
