Open the door by hand and when it is at its peak measure it and make sure the bottom of the rail clears by 1.

If it is too high then the draw bar arm that pushes the door is at too much of a down angle and instead of pushing forward it pushes more down. Disconnect the door from the opener trolley and open and close it manually. The front of the opener should only bearly clear the door when it is at its peak going around the curved part of the track. Thus the problem with the opener moving and the door not.

The tracks might be bent or loose causing the rollers to bind. If you re too far away this can cause a problem with opening or closing the door. Also verify the antenna on the motor unit is in the proper placement. Also check the rollers.

My only suggestion is the ensure that the door operates properly and easily without the gdo and then re connect the door. You may also need to reprogram your keypad or replace the batteries in it. Second the opener should be lower. It s illustrated in the chamberlain manual under installation. Go to your local home improvement store and buy some angle iron and lower the power head. Normally it s only about an inch or so. If they look to be in good shape and you are still not sure what is causing the problem i recommend you have a qualified door technician come take a look at this.
