Garage Door Opens Only A Foot

My craftsman 1 2 hp 315 mhz model 139 53985d gargage door opener will not open or close.

From here lift the garage door by hand about 3 feet above the ground and then release the door and see were it lands. Wipe out the old grease with a grease solvent and put a new lubricant. Check the grease on the tracks and joints. To check the balance pull the emergency release cord or chain to disconnect the door.

You should now be able to move the door up and down by hand. Poor or lack of lubrication. When i try to close or open my garage door i only hear a clicking noise from the unit the light is on it has power its not the remote. If your garage door is not balanced right it won t go up or down all the way.

Genie garage door only moves a few feet and stops and when you push the button again it moves a few inches or a foot. When i try to open or close the garage door the opener will move the chain a couple of inches and turn off.

Garage door only opens 1 foot then stops. If your door refuses to open past 5 feet increase the upward force by turning the screw clockwise.
