Garage Door Remote Range Short

The range on the remote of my garage door opener liftmaster model 2110 or 2220 is suddenly so short that it barely works when the remote is outside the garage door.

Place a stepladder at the area of the garage door opener. Garage door opener remotes work on radio frequency waves typically from ranges of 300mhz to 390mhz. It would only work with 1 remote etc. I suspect an issue with the antenna wire.

Furthermore the homelink buttons in my car are no longer recognized by the liftmaster despite repeated attempts to reprogram them.
