Garage Door Requires Buttom Hold Down To Close

If i just press and release the button the door starts to close then reverses.

Garage door requires buttom hold down to close.

Check that you re using it within the range required for your opener. When the door is up the sensor lights are off. After i hold the button down to close it the sensor lights come back on. Can you hold the button down to make the door go down.

So if you have to do this to close the door it means the sensor is malfunctioning. But seems to be unable to close all the way. I ve made sure there are no obstacles and that the sensors are aligned properly. The majority of garage doors manufactured since the early 1990s are equipped with this safety feature.
