Garage Door Surface Repair

As you can see in the pics the thin piece of fake woodgrain on the lowest panel has sucked up some water and has separated from the wood portion of the panel.

The wood piece behind the surface is ok. I want to repair the surface of my garage door panel which is ripped and peeling and warping. A crack may be left behind but the small cracked area can be patched or sealed with clear fillers. The sidewalk at my house looks more like the whoop dee doos at a moto cross track than a surface anyone should be traversing in december or january.

When your new garage door was installed the installers took great care to make sure the door was flush with your floor and seated properly to keep out the rain snow and wind. A mallet could repair a small hole left in metal such as a steel garage door. Just the woodgrain layer on top is peeling off. Inspect the surface of the door to see if it needs repainting or staining or shows any signs of insect damage.

The bottom portion of your garage door is most susceptable to this kind of wear which can lead to water damage and wood rot. Patch any small holes with wood filler lightly sand and then paint or stain as required. Keep the garage door clean and in good repair. Wooden door patch repair.
