The issue could all boil down to the simple goof of a disconnected motor.
Genie garage door opens but does not close.
Door starts down then stops before it is closed.
Genie openers apply only limited force to the garage door during closing.
If an operational problem exists and the garage door opener will not close the opener can be forced to close.
If the problem persists check to see if the red safe t beam led indicator is blinking.
If it is be sure that the lenses are mounted five to six inches from the floor on either side of the garage door opening.
You should now be able to operate the door using the genie garage door opener.
Try to keep the cord as parallel to the rail of the garage door opener as possible.
Check for and clear any obstructions in its way.
Check for interference from adjacent photo eye sensors of any brand.
Press and hold the wall console button until the garage door is completey closed.
Turn the close force dial in small increments until the garage door reaches the ground when you hit the close button on the remote.
Pull emergency release cord and knob toward the motor.
You may need to give the cord a slight yank to reconnect.
